MAY QUEEN EXTENDED,
The option holdors for the flotation of this mine have received an extension of three months on condition that they push on vigorous developments at their own cost.
MAHAEA KOYAL (Tapu). The development of the main reef in this company's mine is proceeding apace. A length of 250 feet has now been opened up upon the course of the reef, the lode varying in size from 2ft to Gft, whilst in places it swells to a size of 10ft, all of which has shown gold whon breaking down. The development work is beiug prosecuted , most vigorously in order to have the mine in that condition, that when tho company's new mill is completed, the output of oro will bo 'ample to keop i the mill in continuous employment. So far as the operations have advanced, there is every reason to believe that this company have in hand a lode to which very groat importance attaches, and it is anticipated that when developments are negotiated at the deeper areas that resists will be obtained similar to those now being met with. - Yesterday Messrs A. Price and T. A. Dunlop proceeded to tho mine to select a site for the proposed new mill. This has been duly decided upon, and a staff of hands will make a start on Monday next to prepare the pieliininaries in connection with it. The contractor for the construction of the water race is making very satisfactory headway.
