A BURGLAR SENTENCED.

Wellington, March 11
Herbert Allendale, charged with being in possession of burglarious instruments, was sentenced to three years, the Judge saying this was the utmost limit allowed by the law.
A letter was produced in prisoner's! handwriting, but signed " W. Lovell," which was found on Holland, who was sentenced to five yeai'S at the present sessions for burglary. In this document details were given of robberies, attempted or projected, and Holland was urged to join the writer at once for a job which required two. There is a charge of burglary yet to be heard against Allendale.
Later.
In the Supreme Court, the chai*ge against John Smith for attempted pocket picking at the Exhibition is being heard. This is the last case except that against Bosher for the Petone murder, which begins on Monday.
