During the month George Shelbonrne,' one of the intnafces wa.s committed to the Lunatic Asylum and Join Slynes was discharged. Dr McGregor, the .Inspector, visited the Home to-day, iS<* impng other things expressed dissatisfaction at the existing drainage arrangements. This is a matter that should be dealt with immediately by the Board. —It was resolved that the drainage be seen to' as soou as possible.—The Cbairmau referred to a statement made by Dr McGregor as to the election of a j;dining-room, the doctor having stated I that provided the Board saw its way to j set aside the amount of money which would be sufficient to do the work with a Government subsidy, the latter amount would be at once forthcoming. j The Board had now £100 in haud and ; another £100 would suffice .—Resolved J tliat the matter be put before the Department. General Purposes Committee.— "Your General Purposes Committee beg to report that they have examined the accounts for supplies, salaries, etc. for February, and having found the same correct recommend that these be passed tot payment. That sinde; the~ last meeting of the Board the following amounts have been received:— Ohinemuri County Council, £13 6s 7d; Ohinemuri County Council £13 ! 6s 7d; for Police Court on account of Mrs Owen, £13 ; Government subsidy, £139 19s 9d; total, £179 12s lid. That in accordance with remit from the last meeting of the Board your Committee considered the application of the caretaker for an increase of wages for himself and wife, I but have no recommendation to make iin regard thereto. Your Committee ' recommend that a special meeting ef the Board be held on Monday, the 22ud inst., to consider (1) the management of the Homes and the carrying ■ out of improvements notified by the Inspector; end (2; the estimates of \ revenue and expenditure for the in- '■ coming year."—The report was adopted.
