FOOTBALL.
Auckland defeated Wauganui by 6 points to 3. Wbitley and Absalom 1 secured tries for Auckland, and Morton far Wanganui. The Auckland backs played a miserable game, their passing being wild, whilst Edmonds and Ronayne at centre-half and fiveeighths were a great failure. Tauranga made a draw with A.uck T land "B" team, each team securing 6 points. Mathieson and Aeher scored for Tauranga, and Breen and McPoail for Auckland, both of these players gaining their tries as the result of splendid runs. It is intended to play 18 juniors rgainst the rep. team on Saturday afternoon. The latter will appear in Thursday's paper.
NORTHERN WAIROA V. THAMES, The representative match against Northern Wairoa will be played at Flett'a paddock on Saturday, 24th inst. The visitors are a strong combination, and have performed very creditably io the past against Auckland rep. teams, so that a good fight may be expected with our men. The Selection Committee of the Northern Wairoa Union have chosen the following players to play against Auckland, Thames, and Waikato :— Pull: T. Elliott. Three-quarters: W.
