The 'Frisco mail steamer arrived in Auckland yesterday, and the Thames portion of the mail was delivered this morninp. The case against John Clarken and Mary Ann Clarken again came before the Police Court at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The accused were both committed for trial. Attention is drawn to Mr John Fuller's popular concert and dance to-night. Besides the popular tenor, Miss E. L. Featon, mezzo-soprano; MissLydia Fuller, soprano nnd actress ; Messrs C. Marson, Ben and Walter Fuller will appear. The ertrt nvly funny comedietta " For Better or for Worse " will be performed, the whole to conclude with a dame, which it is Mr Fuller's intention to n>ake an enjo>able one, to which end he is b.inging down the latest and most popular music. j

Hansen r. Frank Godwin, claim 10a lOd.—Judgment for plaintiff with costs 6s.—'Richard Smith v. Joseph Iteardon, claim £2 3s 6d.—Judgment for plaintiff with costs 6s. —George Bedford v. George Smith, claim 7s 6*!.—Judgment for plaintiff wiih costs 6s.—J. E. Hansen v. Jules Pie Tea, claim £5. —Adjourned by Court to August 16th.

[ The usual fortnightly meeting of the Thames Barns Clnb was held, last tiijjht, Cm». Farqohar, the President beias, in the Chair. Toe inst rnmntal overturf, violins and piano, was well rf ceircd, Mrs Matthews playing the piano whilst Messrs Martiu anil Jones played the violin ; the playing of' the latter gentleman was particularly «ood for a young player. " I Really am so Nervous," by Mr Culpitt folbscd, and Mr Feuiey sang with considerable pathos, "I Will Stand By My Friends." The M3Oll haka by Masters Dalton, Twohill and Sullivan was a great success and was encored, th;* boys beint done up in all the colors available. Mr A. H. Waddell sang Bonnie Prince Chat lie, explaining the sons.', and told several smusin;j; anecdotes. He also recited "Gettin' the photos ta'en," which brought down the house. Miss Murdoch sang " Robin 1 Adah" with great feeling. An amusing | dialogue followed, Mrs Murdoch, Brownj and Gibb takin« the leading parts. Tne evening finished with the usual dance, the audience singing "Auld Lang Syne" before dispersing.
