"PRETENDED ENCHANTMENT."

Wellington, This day. Hackett and his wife were before the Court to°day charged with pretended enohantment. The facts alleged are that they held a spiritualistic seance at Petone last night, for which they obtained payment. A constable, hearing of it, burst in on the seance, and, dragging down the curtain, disclosed phosphorous and certain paraphernalia, alleged to be used for the purposes of trickery. Accused were remanded, being admitted to bail*
