Chevalier, Kahikalii, and Alfred, 9st Cheistchitbch, yesterday. The New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Meeting was held to-day. The weather was glorious, and the attend* ance numbered about 2000. The follow* ing are the results of the various events: — The New Zealand Gband National Handicap, of 200sovs, about 4 miles: Messrs M. and O. Hobb's Moody, 1; Mr J. Craslin's Linwood, 2; Hon. JR. Rod* ney's Beriogton, 3. Time llmins 35secs. Gband National Maiden Plate, of lOObovb ; distance, two mites : B. Agnew's Donald, 1; Mr G. B. Starkes 1 Sefton (late Maori Boy), 2; Mr H. Lunn's Pickles, 3. Handicap Hubdle Eace, of 80aovs: Mr B. Levers' Secretary walked over. Tallt-ho Handicap, of lOOsovs, 2J» miles : Hon. B. Eodney's Berington, 1; M. and C. Hobbs' Moody, 2. Cavalby Bace, two miles: Corporal Brown's Hard Times, 1. Consolation Eace, two miles: W. Profit's Scrutineer, 1. About £4,000 was put through the totalisator during the day.
