Meiboubnje. There has been rery little of interest during the week. Educating the people of Victoria. Mr Berry has commenced his stumping tour through the country in support of the fceform Bill. He is in f,»vor of a plebiscite which he regards only as a necessary evil. Although his bill is not unanimously approved of by the Liberal party as a whole he declines to alter it in j ,any one particular, for this reason he has incurred the displeasure of the Ministerial journals. When the estimates where before the. Assembly an amendment was carried against increasing the salary of the chief clerk in the chief secretary's office. This was regarded by the Opposition as an indication against all increases when the Ministry declined to accept it, but th>re is no doubt however the point will be pressed. The action of Sir Bryan O'Loughlin giving public telegrams to the Ministerial press only was brought before the House, and Ministers openly avowed the practice, which was strongly reprobated by the House.
