CHRISTCHURCH.
Tuesday. Mr E. 0. J. Stevens, one of the candidates for the city of Christchurch, addressed the electbrs last night, and announced himself as a strong Centralist.
Mr Bluett, member for Coleridge addressed the electors ajt Ashburton. He spoke in favour of' Abolition. A resolution, expressing dissatisfaction with his conduct in the Assembly, and declining to support him at the election, was passed. Mr Wilson, also an Abolitionist, is the favourite candidate for. this district.
Two fires occurred in Christchurch yesterday. The Imperial office lose £500 and the Batavian £750 by them.
