OUR FIRE BRIGADES.
The anniversary of the Borough Fire Brigades will be worthily celebrated this evening by a banquet at the Pacific Hotel and a dance at the Academy of Music afterwards. At the banquet it is probable His Worship tho Mayor and the Borough Councillors and other citizens will be present; while the numerous responses which we understand have been received from ladies accepting the invitation to the dance should ensure the success of that portion of the programme. On all occasions in which their services have unhappily been required, the firemen have worked admirably, and nothing is more calculated to encourage them in their duties than the approval and countenance of their fellow citizens, an exhibition of which we trust they will have this evening. ____
