The mine manager of the above company reports that the work in the mine during the past, fortnight has been confined to driving. A distance of 24 feet along the course of the reef has been accomplished. The lode is a compact body of conglomerate sandstone and quartz, 4 or 5 feet in thickness, with well defined footwall. Several prospects have been tried both by dish washing and in the mortar, and encouraging results have been obtained. A contract has been let for splitting slabi, and next week the manager intends prospecting for continuation of reef in north easterly direction.
