SYDNEY.
' August 7. Parliament will probably prorogue on Monday. The difficulty between, the two Houses over the Land Bill resulted in a conference. The attention of the Assembly was called to the overloading of the steamer Easby, of Wellington, and other vessels leaving port. The Government promised the matter attention. A fire at Messrs Lane, Chester and Co's, George, street, called up insurances amountine to' £10,000. Buildings adjoining were damaged, and several offices were concerned.
A two-story building in Barrack street fell, owing to an excavation for a cellar. An engraver, named Todd, in, the adjoining house was seriously injured. The Assembly have granted an annuity of £250 to Hargreaves, the explorer. . The Rev. Mr Pillars, a Unitarian minister, fell frbm a ledge of rock at the South Head and was killed.
The skeletons of two bodies have been found in Queensland^ supposed to have belonged to Leichardt*s parity. The O'Connell celebration passed off quietly.
