First Reunion There as a good attendance at the first reunion of the Fairlie sub-branch of the Homeservicemen's Association held in the Aorangi Hall. Mr G. S. Giddings nresided, and extended a welcome to visitors and members. Mr H B. Timmings, president of the South Canterbury executive, gave a resume of the activities of the Association. During the evening musical items were contributed by Mr K. Tooth (Timaru) and Mr H. D. Roberts (Fairlie). A short toast list was honoured. Beneficial Rain Light rain fell on Sunday, but steady rain set in about, noon on Tuesday and continued throughout till yesterday morning. The rain will assure a good growth ot feed. Grain and flax crops will benefit considerably, as also will root crops. Shearing will be delayed, but this was well advanced during the last month of dry weather. Music Examinations I The following are the results of the I music examination conducted by Mr B.
