RAIDS ON BACHES
Gang Sentenced (N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND. Nov. 1. As a sequel to raids on holiday baches and motor- cars in the city, with the theft of goods valued at more than £lOOO, six men, described as an organised gang, w’ere to-day sentenced by Mr Justic Callan in the Supreme Court as follow's:—John Charles Rogers (40) and Geoffrey Rolland Kellv (31) each received two years’ hard labour, plus two years’ reformative detention; Phillip Napier Hunter (19) three years’ Borstal detention; Eric Edward Parris (34) two years’ reformative detention: Cedric Brazil Carley (37) 18 months’ reformative detention; James Victor Boyd (32) 12 months’ reformative detention. Another member of the same party, Reginald Dawson, was admitted to probation for 12 months.
