Coates, Christchurch. J. B. Henderson. Motueka. A. R. Mitchell. Hastings. W. W. Rae. Auckland. P. D. Sladden, Nelson. Captain W. A. Todd, chief officer of the motor vessel, Haurakl, died in a prisoner of war camp in Japan in April. 1944. He was born in Dunedin and was well known in shipping circles in New Zealand. He was an elder brother of Captain D. Todd, deputy harbourmaster at Wellington.
