BURGOMASTER IN COURT
Many Charges Faced BERLIN. September 27. Frederick Bachman, burgomaster of Beilin’s Tiergarten area, appeared before an Allied military court facing 11 charges including disobedience to Military Government orders, being in uosse.s.sion of counterfeit money, embezzlement. stealing, corruption, and also the acceptance of bribes. The prosecuting officer said that further charges would be made, including the misapplication of large sums of money entrusted to the accused for the benefit of the people of the Tiergarten. The court adjourned until October 22 to give defence time to secure the testimony of a Russian officer.
