INVASION OF JAPAN
Set Down for November 1 (12.58 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 28. Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten told naval personnel at Singapore that the invasion of the Japanese mainland would have been launched on November 1, if Japan had not surrendered.
