Coaching in Schools.—“ One of the nurseries of cricket should be the primary schools,” said Mr V. Hahn, at the annual meeting of the South Canterbury Cricket Association last evening. Mr Hahn said that some schools were interested but some were not. Could the Association not get some senior players to give coaching to the boys? They could be taught. I lie fundamentals and groundwork of (lie game. Baseball was getting a footing in the schools, and cricket was a much better game. Perhaps Fraser Park could be secured on Saturday mornings to teach the boys. There were hundreds of primary schoolboys dying to do something on a Saturday morning, commented Mr A. E. Lawrence. The matter was left to the incoming committee.
