U.S. Returns to Standard Time The United States will return to standard time at 6 a.m. G.M.T. on September 30, when the clocks will be turned back one hour. Suspected Collaborators Two men who claim Eire citizenship and five Indians are among the number of people arrested by the military authorities at Singapore on suspicion of being war criminals or collaborators, says Reuter’s correspondent. One is thought to have given talks over the Singapore radio during the Japanese occupation. Belgian Regent Visited M. van Acker (Prime Minister), accompanied by members of the Belgian Cabinet, arrived at Lisbon. Toe correspondent of the Associated Press in Lisbon says thev are reported to have visited the Belgian Regent, Prince Charles, shortly after their arrival. Return of Rangoon Governor Sir Reginald Dorman Smith. Governor of Burma, is expected to return to Rangoon early in October and take over the administration. Dutch “Haw Haw" Sentenced Max Blokzsl, known as the Dutch “Haw Haw," was sentenced to death on a charge of treason. Blokzsl before the invasion contributed to Nazi newspapers and broadcast for the Nazis after the invasion. Hungarian Elections The Budapest radio announced that the Hungarian Cabinet had decided to hold general elections on November 4. Hitler’s Confidant Arrested Fritz Weidemann, Hitler’s confidant, has been arrested in Tientsin. United States Army authorities stated that he will be tried as a war criminal in Germany.
