WAY TO PEACE
Support Of Democratic Forces (8.40 p.m.) LONDON. .Sept. 26. M. Molotov (Soviet Foreign Commissioner) in a speech at a reception :n his honour by the Society of Cultural Relations with the U.S.S.R., said that the main task of the Council of Foreign Ministers was to consolidate victory and secure lasting peace throughout the world. The rout of the Fascist aggressive nations achieved by the Allies would bear good fruit for the cause of peace only under certain conditions. ‘‘lt can be achieved only when we render all possible support to the democratic forces in our own and in other countries and will not allow any attempts to revive any remnant of Fascism—this principal bearer of aggression,” M. Molotov said. It was not only vital for Russia and Britain that friendship should be strengthened, but for all peace-loving nations. The more many-sided and deeper the work of reapproachment was the more needful and useful would it be. “Those who sow lies, intrigues and slander will be completely defeated and disgraced, if people of labour and culture in our two countries fight steadfastly Jor the propagation of truth and for its strengthening,” he added.
