NO TRACE FOUND
Missing Transport Plane IN.ZP.A-) AUCKLAND. Sept- 26 In spite of extensive searches wmen have been carried out in the last two days no trace- has been found of the C 47 Douglas Dakota aircralt of the Royal New Zealand Air Force transport Command which has been missing on a transit flight from Espiritu Santos to Whenuapai air station.
One airman who can consider himself lucky is Leading Aircraftman j Donnithorne. He left Bougainville on the Dakota-Douglas transport along with 16 other passengers, but at Guadalcanal was left behind. The transport has since been reported missing. L.A.C.
