Production Figures (FO.P.R.) WELLINGTON. Sept 26 Gold and silver bullion produced in New Zealand last year amounted to 470 568 ounces, ’ clued at £1,518.119 states the Mines Statement presented in the House of Representatives today This represented an increase in quantity on the previous year of 40,632 ounces, but a decrease in value of £49 495 The gold content of the bullion produced last year is estimated at 142 287 ounces, valued at £1.474.a36. The report states that the Dominion’s total production of crude petroleum to December 31. 1944, was estimated at 3 411570 gallons. There were 149 coal mines operating in the Dominion in 1944 Fifty-four of them were situated on freehold property and produced 1 197 485 tons, or 43 per cent of the total' output. The remaining 95 mines were situated on Crown lands and produced 1.608.485 tons, or 57 per cent of the total output of 2,805,970 tons This output was a record for the Dominion.
