VICTORY CARNIVAL
Enthusiasm Mounting A meeting of the central executive and zone chairmen of the Victory Carnival was held last evening. The reports of activities already in hand shows great promise and the objective of £12,000 at this stage appears to be well within the range of possibility. Although the Carnival is not due to start till next month, and this present time was intended to be an organising period for chairmen of zones, enthusiasm is already evident and chairmen have been busy arranging for and authorising the running of various functions large and small. Satisfaction was expressed by the executive committee at the response of citizens who are out to assist zone committees and to do their share in raising the funds. It was reported that supporters’ badges will be on issue within a day or two. and then it is expected that keen competition between the zones will become evident. A special committee which has in hand a gala day on the Bay on November 3, reported that arrangements were well advanced.
