SAN FRANCISCO

Headquarters Of World Organisation (10.25 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 24. Russia has withdrawn objections to San Francisco as the permanent site of the United Nations Organisation, says the Washington correspondent of the “New York Times.” The British are reported to favour Geneva, but New Zealand, Australia and the Latin-American countries want San Francisco. It is understood that the world assembly will probably be held each year in a different country, but the all-important Security Council will be located at a fixed site, which is expected to be San Francisco.
