LEVELS GROUP

Agricultural Clubs The annual meeting of the Levels Group of the Agricultural Clubs was held in the Gleniti School, when Mr P. R. Talbot presided. The annual report showed that there had been 124 entries, ,110 of which were completed. The most popular project had been that of the kitchen garden. In spite of many difficulties a successful group stock parade had been held at Gleniti. The group was fortunate in obtaining the services of Mr J. Waddell who judged the lambs and the calves and gave an instructive talk on the care and feeding of stock and the points to be noted in judging. Transport was generously supplied by car owners in the district. Several schools in the group held their own local vegetable and flower shows. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £2/7/8. The Education Board advised that the usual grant to group funds would not be forthcoming this year. Mr J. Pennycook showed an interestinn: film on calf rearing. Mr P. R. Talbot was re-elected chairman and Mr G. E. Cartwright secretary. _______
