A WIN FOR CANTERBURY (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 15. In continuous rain and on a heavy, muddy ground, Canterbury beat Wellington at hockey by 3 goals to 2 on the Basin Reserve to-day. Canterbury’s fine positional play was a feature of the game. The first score was from a penalty bully won by Canterbury. Wellington evened and the half-time score was one all. Early in the second half both teams scored, and a few minutes before time the decisive score resulted from a penalty corner forced by Canterbury. There was a poor attendance.
