TIES OF UNITY ARE RESTORED
Message To Liberated Territories (7.30 p.m ) LONDON, Aug. 16. His Majesty in a message to the peoples of the British and Britishprotected territories in the Far East which are occupied by the Japanese expressed warm sympathy and heartfelt thanksgiving for deliverance. “The thoughts of the Queen and myself were constantly with you during your years of suffering so bravely borne,” he said. “With the dawn of the day of liberation we rejoice with you that the ties which unite my peoples everywhere will now be fully restored.” His Majesty added that the traces of cruel, ruthless oppression could not be wiped out in a day. The work of restoration would be long and Heavy, but he was confident that peace, security and happiness would soon be restored.
