Children’s Victory Party on Caroline Bay at 2.30 p.m. Sports Programme for the Children arranged by Council of Sport. Victory Dances to be held throughout the town in aid of Post-war Welfare. SERVICES IN ALL CHURCHES AT 7 p.m. Citizens, Celebrate I Citizens, Celebrate I SECOND DAY PROGRAMME CITIZENS’ THANKSGIVING SERVICE Caroline Bay Soundshell at 10 a.m. Everybody invited. GRAND VICTORY PROCESSION Assembles at North Street, Woollcombe Street and Stafford Street at 2 p.m. All organisations, business houses, sports bodies, general public and school children invited to cooperate to make this an outstanding success. POSITIONS AND ORDER OF PARADE (All Walking Sections will proceed six abreast) STAFFORD ST. (South of Woollcombe St)— R.S.A. (Note: Returned Servicemen and Servicemen in uniform are | specially invited to parade). WOOLLCOMBE ST. (3 columns)— North: Timaru Municipal Band; His Worship the Mayor and Councillors, Members of Parliament, Representatives of all Local Bodies; Primary Schools, headed by own Bands (in order of arrival) to Latter St. Centre: Primary Schools, headed by own Bands (in order of arrival) to Latter St. South: Harmonica Band; Secondary Schools (in order of arrival). NORTH ST.— Timaru Pipe Band. Centre: Home Guard. North Side: E.P.S. South Side: Homeservicemen. North and South Side to Latter Stand using Barnard St. (in order of arrival): ALL organisations (e.g., St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, Nurses, W.W.S.A., Combined Sports Bodies, Allied Nations Representatives, etc., as well as bands of citizens celebrating as individuals or groups). Proceed along Stafford St., Canon St., Sophia St., to T.B.C. fall marching sections will be formed up). Savage Club Mock Court, Community Singing, Impromptu Concerts, Open Air Dancing. Vehicles are asked to file into Sophia and Perth Streets. I At the conclusion of the address, community sing etc., the children will I be marched down George St., up Stafl ford St. (north), being split into threes on each side of the route, and all those wishing to continue the procession to enable the children to view same are I asked to proceed through Latter St..
