Car Catches Fire
Some excitement was caused at 2.30 p.m. yesterday when a Chevrolet car being driven by Mr W. Giles, from Timaru to Christchurch caught fire in the middle of King Street. The car was observed going north with flames shooting from the bonnet, but it was not until the driver reached the centre of the town that he became aware of his predicament and stopped. The firebell was rung and the brigade quelled the blaze with a foam extinguisher.
