BASQUE BERET
Mr Churchill’s Latest LONDON, July 12. While on holiday near the Spanish border' Mr Churchill added a Basque beret to his cosmopolitan range of headgear although it is reported that he had difficulty in finding one big enough. During his world travels in the last six years Mr Churchill has revealed a warm predilection lor hats of the country he was visiting. His holiday in the south of France gave him an opportunity of temporarily adopting the Basques’ national heaclcovcring, properly named a boina. With it he wore a local costume consisting notably of a blue overall. A Basque fete and mock bullfight were arranged for the entertainment of the Churchill family. Mr Churchill wa.s also guest of honour at a banquet of Basque specialities, including a cake cooked with cider.
