At the Scottish Society's dance on Saturday evening the final of the South Canterbury waltzing championship was contested by six couples The judge (Mr I. Cross) stated that the waltzing was of a high standard and mentioned minor mistakes for future guidance. Championship honours were won by Miss A Beynon and Private M. J. Howe, who were the recipients of the Scottish Society's silver cups and holders of the ehnlleni’c cup. Miniature silver cups were awarded to Mr and Mrs A. J.
