NON-INFLAMMABLE PETROL
U.S. Discovery (9.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 19. A new non-inflammable high octane aviation petrol was demonstrated by Standard Oil Company engineers. A lighted match dropped into the petrol was immediately snuffed out. The petrol will be used in civilian flying immediately after the war. It is expected trf make air travel safer by reducing the fire hazard in accidents, also to make mid-air refuelling on world girdling practicable.
