DROPPING JEEPS BY PLANE
Method Revealed <Rec. 7.30 D.md LONDON. July 18. It can now be revealed the manner in which jeeps and six-pound anti-tank guns were dropped from aircraft by parachute. They were fitted with a large crashpan to absorb the shock and were dropped in ( lusters of lour large parachutes. The rate of descent was about 12 miles an hour. A single Halifax was able to carry a jeep, an anti-tank gun. ammunition containers and 10 men for dropping.
