At present she is expected to clear the same day. From Lyttelton, where she is now. the Korowai will proceed to Timaru She is set down to lift Auckland consignments here next week, returning to that port direct. The Karitane loads at Bluff and Dunedin before reaching here, where Wellington cargo will be ready for her early arrival. The condition of the Westport bar is better at the present time than it has been for some years as the result, of a fresh in the Buller River and an easterly set scouring out sand deposits. The depth on the bar at low tide is 15 feet 6 inches and at high spring tide 25 feet. With the exception of three days when the bar was not workable. there has been no hold-up of shipping at Westport for some weeks, and all colliers have loft, with full cargoes.
