KENNEL CLUB
Show Successes Members of the South Canterbury Kennel Club were successful exhibitors at the Canterbury Kennel Club’s show. Miss Leila Greig’s Alsatian Sir Valiant of Chingford was first in the Open Dog Class and third in the NonSporting Stakes, and Valerie of Chingford was first in open bitches and Flash Vivienne second. Mrs M.. G. Richards’ Wire-Haired Terrier Winston of Wyreclad, was first in open dogs while Wendy of Wyreclad was second in the open class for bitches. Mr M. B. Richards’ Cocker Spaniel Conscience of Cullman was first in the Bitch Puppy class, the Grand All Breed Puppy Stakes and best puppy in show. Mrs T. V. Cooke’s Bulldog Alswel Model O’Marquis was first in open bitches, non-sporting stakes, best non-sport.ing dog or bitch In show and second in Ladies’ All Breed Challenge Stakes. Miss Leila Greig's Valerie of Chingford died on the eve of attaining championship status. The committee of the South Canterbury Club has decided to stage a ribbon parade for all dogs next month.
