INFANTILE PARALYSIS

Sydney Epidemic (10.0 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 18. Deaths from infectious diseases during the last week include three from infantile paralysis and one from typhoid fever—the first this year. This brings the total deaths from infantile paralysis to 20 since the outbreak of the epidemic, which is unabated. In the last four weeks 10 deaths from this disease have been notified. Seventeen cases of typhoid fever have been reported this year. Four fatal cases of diphtheria and two of meningitis occurred during the last week.
