CIVILIAN GOODS
Manufacture Extended (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 31. The manufacture of many civilian goods previously prohibited is now permitted in Australian munition plants and factories engaged on defence contracts. Goods, manj’ of which are being made for the irst time since Japan entered the war in December, 1941, include kitchenware, Potato mashers, egg beaters, vegetable slicers, engines, irrigation pumps, boring equipment, agricultural and hand gardening implements, refrigerators, carpet sweepers, utility furniture, steel fence posts,' pest traps and fishing gear.
