LIGHTNING HITS TREE
Farmer’s Lucky Escape (N.Z.P.A.) WHANGARET, May 30. A Kokopu settler, Mr Ray Kokich, had a startling experience yesterday. During a thunderstorm he was tying dogs under a tree when lightning split the tree and felled it to the earth. Mr Kokich was temporarily stunned by the report, but escaped injury from the shattered tree.
