STORE DAMAGED
Outbreak Of Fire (N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 26. Fire to-night caused considerable damage to a portion of the iron store of Seagar Brothers, Ltd., in Freeman’s Bay. The damage was confined to the front part of the building. The outbreak was apparently caused by a gas califont which was left burning in the wash-room on the ground floor. The fire spread to the drawing room and general offices on the top storey. Flames burst through the roof of the building with a loud explosion. One of the serious aspects of the fire is the loss of a number of drawings and drawing instruments and records. A good deal of office furniture was destroyed.
