Men Welcomed Home

The platform of the Temuka Railway Station was crowded with relatives, friends, and wellwishers when the train by which a number of long service men returned from the Middle East arrived yesterday afternoon. Both the Temuka Municipal Band and the Temuka Pipe Band played selections that enlivened the somewhat long wait. The official welcoming party included the Mayor (Mr G. A. Harris), Mr J. L. Menzies, president of the Temuka R.S.A., Mr A. D. Crossman, representing the Milford-Clandeboye R.S.A., Mr G. Edgar, representing the Geraldine County Council, and members of the Temuka Borough Council and Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee. ,
