MAORI BATTALION Christmas Dinner Fund (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. The Minister of Native Affairs (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) has announced that arrangements have been made through his Department for the transmission of £3OO to provide Christmas dinner for the Maori Battalion in Italy. The amount was contributed as follows:—Arawa Trust Board. Rotorua, on behalf of the Arawa Confederation of Tribes, £100; King Koroki. on behalf of the Waikato and associated tribes. £100: Sir Apirana Ngata, on behalf of the Ngati Porou ~nd associated tribes from Hick's Bay tf Gisborne, £lOO.
