Various Notifications (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. In order that the maize crop which, it is stated, again proved smaller than anticipated may be fairly evenly distributed, a committee representative of the growers, merchants. Poultry Board and Government departments concerned will control this year’s distribution. Provision for the appointment of the committee is contained in regulations gazetted to-night. Maize may be marketed through the ordinary channels in accordance with the urgency of the requirements. An amended Fertiliser Control Order increases from 2cwt to 3cwt the allocation to maize growers. The Purchase of Wool Regulations gazetted to-night amend the provision whereby 5 per cent of the appraisal value of clips must be taken out in bonds or stock. This will now apply to clips appraised at more than £2OO and not at more than £lOO as. previously. A Gazette notice extends the period in which the commission of inquiry into apprenticeship and related matters is to report from August 31 until “November 30. Amounts ranging from 2/- for the National Service Department to £390 for the Social Security Department in conscience money are acknowledged in the Gazette. Another large amount of £75 has been received by the Lands and Income Tax Departihent.
