BAR TO D.S.C.
Naval Award SEQUEL TO ATTACK ON SALERNO (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 13. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) has been advised by the Admiralty that the King has approved the award of a Bar to the Distinguished Service Cross to Temporary-Lieutenant Frank Athol Joseph Pennington for good service in the attack on Salerno. Temporary-Lieutenant Pennington, who was recently awarded the D.S.C. for good service in the destruction of enemy aircraft, entered the Royal Navy in 1940 and received his commission in the R.N.Z.N.V.R. in 1941. His mother is Mrs G. A. Pennington, Wellington.
