Liquor Worth £3OOO

More than 1000 bottles of beer and spirits, believed to have cost £3OOO, were seized by Customs officers to-day on a ship in an Australian port. The liquor was packed up and taken ihto bond. For some time the authorities have been aware of the traffic in liquor between Australia and northern battle stations. Customs officers believe that the whisky seized cost the buyers about £5 a bottle on the black market, and that it would have be6n saleable in the operational areas at £l5 a bottle. Beer at the black market price of £2 a dozen bottles would sell in operational areas as £4 a dozen.
