WOMEN’S CROQUET
South Island Tournament (N.Z.P.A.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 7. The South Island Croquet Tournament in which 46 competitors are participating was continued to-day at the Watea and Leith greens. The lawns were in excellent order after a shower of rain. Results:— Women’s Championship Singles Mrs Palmers (Christchurch) 26, beat Mrs Grant (Christchurch) 16. Mrs Buehler (Punga) 26, beat Mrs O’Neill (Gore) 22. Mrs Holmes (Southland) 26, beat Mrs Kellaway (Christchurch) 10. Mrs McCracken (West Coast) 26, beat Mrs Moodie (Punga) 15. Mrs Grant (Christchurch) 26, beat Mrs Newall (St. Clair) 0. Mrs Burgess (Gore) 26. beat Mrs Whitfield (Christchflrch) 23. Mrs Lattimer (Balclutha) 26, beat Mrs Forrester (Leith) 24. South Island Open Championship Mrs Holmes (Southland) beat Mrs Pepper (Christchurch) 5-26 26-21. 26-13. Miss Bell (Christchurch) beat Mrs Buehler (Punga) 26-23. 21-26, 26-15.
