Reduced Postage Rate (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. From September an airgraph service will be available for messages addressed to civilians and members of the British and Allied Forces in Kenya, Tanganyika, Uganda, Nyazaland, Zanzibar, Northern Rhodesia. Southern Rhodesia, the Union of South Africa, Mauritius and Madagascar, said the Postmaster-General (the Hon. P. C. Webb) to-night. He added that an airgraph service from the countries mentioned above to New Zealand would also be introduced on September 1. Mr Webb also stated that there would be a reduced postage rate for Christmas parcels for the Armed Forces in the Middle East. Great Britain. Canada and elsewhere. The rates for Christmas postlnes would be for parcels not exceeding 31b in weight, 1/-. parcels between 31b and 111 b. 2/-. This concession, which is in respect of Christmas postings only, would apply for the following periods—United Kingdom. Middle East. Africa, India, etc., from September 1 to 30, Canada and other parts of North and South America and the West Indies, October 1 to 31: Australia, Fiji and the Pacific Islands.
