FAT BULLOCKS SHOW ADVANCE (N.Z.P.A.) DUNEDIN. January 27. The principal feature at the Burnside stock sale was the sharp advance of 30 - in values for fat bullocks. Prime wethers and young ewes were in keen demand and prices remained firm. Values for baconers and porkers receded to the extent of 5/a head, due to the exceptionally heavy yarding. Fat Cattle: There was a small entry of fat cattle, the offering numbering 214 head. Quotations: Prime heavy bullocks to £22/2/6, prime from £l7/12/6 to £l9/12 6. medium from £l5/2/6 to £l6/17/6, light down to £lo'l7/6, extra prime heifers to £l3/2/6, medium from £B/2/6 to £9/12/6. light down to £5/17/6; extra prime cows to £l2/17/6, prime from £7/2/6 to £9 T.. 6. medium from £5/12/6 to £7/2/6, light down to £4/7/6. Fat Sheep: The sheep entry numbered 1550. Quotations: Extra prime heavy wethers tc 40/-, prime from 33/- to 35/6, medium from 28/6 to 31/6, light down to 22/-; extra prime heavy young ewes to 28/-, prime heavy from 23/- to 25, 6. medium from 14/- to 18/-, light down to 10/-. Fat Lambs: There was a large entry in this section, the quality not being as good as at the previous market. Quotations: Prime heavy butchers' lambs to 30/-. prime from 24/6 to 26/6, medium from 23/- to 24/3, light down to 30/3. Fat Pigs: The entry numbered 326. the bulk of this being porkers. Best baconers sold to £5/19/-, and porkers realised from £3/5/- to £3/19/- according to size and quality. The yarding of store pigs numbered 80 and values had an easing tendency.

STUDHOLME SALE At the fortnightly Studholme sale held yesterday, fat ewes were fully 1/- to 1 6 a head dearer than last sale. In the store sheep section there were only a few pens of lambs which met with a good sale. Prices were: Fat ewes from 10 4 to 12/7; fat two-tooth ewes to 26'4: fat lambs 19 3 to 23/10; fat two-tooth wethers, 25/4 to 33/1; store lambs, 15/1; forward rape lambs 19/3 to 20/7.
