RICCARTON NOTES
(Special) CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 25. The following trainers arrived home to-day from Trentham with . their horses: C. C. McCarthy, Tutere, Dominate; F. Christmas, Good Scout, Grey Night; W. J. Wadley, John Gay, Soncy; F. D. Jones, Scottish Dale; C. Davey, Prince Dolomite; Mrs J. Campbell, Nightglass; Mrs C. Pankhurst, Supercharged. G. Ridgway has not returned home from Trentham. He expects to race Arctic Dawn and Hurry Home at the Pahiatua meeting on Saturday, while Arctic Dawn and Tea Drop have been nominated for the Egmont .netting;, to be held at the end of next week.
Military Maid has not done much work since she returned from her Holiday trip to Wingatui and Waikouaiti, but she is in great order, ready to show more good form at Motukarara early in March. She has been joined by Lunaria, who is in healthy condition after some useful road work. C. Emerson now has five horses in hand, but only the two-year-olds, Stavros and In Chancery, are ready to race. They will be seen out at the local non-totalisator meeting next month. Prudent Prince is carrying a lot of condition, aftei- a spell on good grass. Benevolent is more forward, having been hacked for some time and he will now be started on a pre~>a.vation for jumping races. A newcomer, the Myosotis-Mistress Quickly gelding, looks a promising sort.
