BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
TRIBUTE TO GENERAL MACARTHUR (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 26. The Prime Minister has sent the following message to General MacArthur: “Please accept my personal greetings on the occasion of your birthday. The successful efforts of the Forces under your able command, both American and Australian, have been watched with the greatest enthusiasm in this Dominion, and the New Zealand people will, I feel sure, join with me in wishing you every success and all good fortune in the fateful year which lies ahead.”
