Australian Proposals (7.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. 21. Tlie social service plan that is being prepared by the Federal Government is understood to provide for spending £60,000,000 in the next three years. Details are expected to be announced by the Treasurer when Parliament meets next week. The plan, it is said, will provide for a first instalment of expenditure of £30,000,000, the remaining £30,000,000 to be spread over the remainder of the three-year term. Federal circles regard the plan as the Government’s answer to those who demand an improved social system and a guarantee of social security alter the war. The proposals arc believed to provide lor: (.1) Improved repatriation rights, including pensions for service women.
